What is the difference between Standard and Gold Membership?
Standard membership is a totally free service where members can exchange unlimited e-mails to chat and get to know each other, but can not exchange Personal Contact Information or arrangements to meet.
Gold membership is a subscription service where members can avail of additional functionality and special features which enables them to quickly and easily find their ideal matches. Gold Members are able to freely exchange contact information and arrange to meet with other Gold Members. Gold Members have a higher rate of success in meeting people and having dates as they have a higher profile on the site.

Are members on this site screened?
A valid email address is required in order to become a member of this site. This means that should any member of the site be found guilty of harassing other members, we will have a lead in finding the person who is causing problems; and with the help of the members ISP, hopefully we can hopefully trace this person. Needless to say, such people will be permanently banned from membership on this site. However, our service is otherwise confidential. There is no way that we can do extensive background checks on members, and we expect you to understand that we cannot take responsibility for any pain, damage or suffering arising from your use of this site. What is the difference between entering as a guest and entering as a member?
SingleParents.ie works on a membership system so that we are able to keep data files that contain your profile information and other information such as your “Favourites”, etc. Guests may enter the site and browse the listings, but in order to post a profile and use the many features available on the site, you must become a member.

Don't worry about getting everything in as you can amend your profile at any time, just give it a go with whatever you wish to tell about yourself. Think about the things you would like to know about someone else as other people are likely to want to know similar things about you. Please keep it honest as people will prefer to meet the real you! - Browse through the profiles until you find a member you wish to contact.

- The more messages you send, the more replies you will receive, so be proactive.

How do I receive messages from other members?
When a member sends you a message, SingleParents.ie will notify you that a message is waiting to be picked up by you. Login with your Username and Password to view the message. You can then reply to the message and your message will be forwarded to the other member. Since all messages go through our system, neither member will see the real email address that you use.

Simply click on the 'Reply' link on the message received to send a response. You can view their profile by clicking on 'View Profile' if you want to read their full details.

How long are my messages kept for before they are deleted?
Messages are kept on the site for 30 days and then are deleted.

Can my messages be retrieved once they are deleted?
Once you have deleted your messages or they have been automatically deleted after the 30 days they are then irretrievable.

Once you have sent a message to another member it can not be retrieved or recalled. Gold members can however view all messages which they have sent to other members.

Unread messages are not normally deleted but may be deleted if not read after 30 days.

You can send unlimited messages but please do not SPAM other members or you will be banned from the site.

My mails are being delayed. Why is this?
Free Member email communications have an automatic 20 minute time delay. This is because our system automatically filters these messages for encoded information or contact details. Unfortunately, we have had to do this as some members were abusing the service. If you want to avoid this delay and avail of other features, please Upgrade Now to Gold Membership.

Is there anything that I cannot put into a message?
Free Members are not permitted to include Personal Contact Information or arrangements to meet in their messages and these will automatically be filtered out. If you wish to exchange such information, please Upgrade Now to Gold Membership. This will also apply if Gold Members are sending contact information to Free Members. Both members must be Gold Members to freely exchange such contact information.

Only Gold members can block messages. Within each message you receive there is an option to 'Block User' which means that you can block any further emails from this member to you. Your block list is private to you only.

No. However, all member profiles, when they are originally created as well as when they are modified, may be reviewed by SingleParents.ie. We reserve the right to refuse any profile or photograph that we feel is inappropriate for this site. Also we ask that you do not put any personal information in your profile including but not limiting to: your home address, mobile or telephone number, a real email address or personal web address. This is for your safety and is a rule under our Terms and Conditions of membership. Any repeat offenders of this rule will be banned from the SingleParents.ie site until such information is removed from their profile.

Your profile is posted immediately, however SingleParents.ie reserves the right to remove any profile which we deem as unfit for this website. Public Photos will be reviewed by our webmasters before being allowed to be posted to the website.

Think before you write: Feel free to write as much as you want in our essay portions of the sign-up pages. The better your profile describes you, the more likely it is others will read and respond to it. If you can't think of anything right away, you can always add more later. And don't forget to fill out the optional profile question – these will also help other members get to know you even better.

Right to cancel?
When you become a Gold Member we provide the service to you from the moment you purchase it. Because of this, we cannot offer a cancellation or 'cooling off' period. This is in accordance with the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000. We will of course cancel all future payments.

Why was my subscription automatically renewed?
If you pay by credit card, you are charged immediately for your subscription. When you initial subscription term ends, we automatically renew your subscription each month unless you cancel your subscription prior to that date.

What exactly is 'Advanced Search'?
Advanced Search is a Gold Member feature which is a more detailed search that allows you to search for additional criteria in relation to other members such as smoker/non-smoker or by certain keywords e.g. vegetarian.

What is the Block List? How do I use it?
The Block List feature allows Gold Members to 'Block' or 'Ignore' certain members. This means that if you block another member, they will no longer appear in your search results and you will no longer receive emails from them via SingleParents.ie.
To add members to your Block List follow these steps:
- Login to the site using your username and password
- Click on the 'Read Messages' link.
- Click on an email from the member you wish to block.
- At the bottom on the email click on the 'Block User' button to add the member to your block list.
- Login to the site using your username and password.
- Click on the 'My Page' link.
- Click on the 'View your Blocklist' link.
- Login to the site using your username and password.
- Click on the 'My Page' link.
- Click on the 'View your Blocklist' link.
- Find the member you wish to remove from your blocklist and then press the 'remove' button beside the members name.

If you are having trouble uploading a photo, you should check that it fits within the following guidelines:
- The photo should be in .JPG format.
- The photo should not exceed 512kB in size.

- Ensure the photo is saved in .JPG format and is less than 512kB in size.
- Click on the Gallery link on the left menu
- Choose type of gallery
- Drop chosen file into the frame or click on the frame to select photo

What are the guidelines for public gallery photos?
Public gallery photos must be of you only; all public images and photographs will be reviewed before they are posted to the website, and group photos will be redirected to your Private Gallery.
We will only allow photos that we genuinely believe to be of you to be posted.
Blurry or extremely low-quality photos, which do not show you in a clear and recognizable way, will be rejected or redirected to the Private Gallery.
You may not post obscene images, images for which you do not own the copyright (images of actors or models, cartoon characters, etc.), extremely low-quality images, or any other images that are not a picture of you.

What are the guidelines for a Profile photo?
Your Profile photo must be of you, and you only. Blurry or extremely low-quality photos, which do not show you in a clear and recognizable way, will be rejected. Don’t be afraid to show your face!

Simply follow the steps below to manage photos that you have already uploaded:
- Click on the ‘Gallery’ link on the left side menu.
- You will see a list of photo folders, choose the one you wish to manage and click ‘Manage Photos’.
From here, you can upload, rotate, and delete photos, set a Profile photo, or move photos to different galleries.

How can I let other members access my private photos?
To grant a member access to your private pictures, he or she must be your friend on the site. To add a member as a friend, simply follow the steps below:
- Login to our site with your username and password.
- Visit the profile of the member you wish to add as a friend.
- On the member’s profile, under Profile photo, click on ‘Add Friend’ button.
Once the member accepts your friendship offer, they will be able to see your private photos, and you will be able to see theirs.

How long does it take get my photo approved?
Usually, we approve all photos and profile text within 24 hours. Often, it's a lot less than that, but we cannot offer any guarantees.

My photo is not online yet, why?
Our Moderation Team is always double checking and scanning the photos to make sure that no inappropriate content was accepted for the first time. If such will be found, it will be deleted immediately.
